25 unrestricted support grants

Cultural change starts at the local level...on neighborhood stages, in community spaces, and through programming shaped by those who live and lead in Denver.

That belief is at the core of our Inclusive Communities Grant Program.

In 2025, we awarded $10,000 in unrestricted support to 25 small, community-rooted nonprofits that integrate arts and culture into public programming. These organizations are led by and serve BIPOC, LGBTQ+, and disability communities, and their work reflects the strength, diversity, and creativity of the region.

Why it matters

These groups are artists, organizers, educators, and storytellers who work across disciplines like muralism, mariachi, theater, dance, food culture, and oral history. They preserve heritage, spark connection, and ensure Denver’s cultural spaces are inclusive and reflective of the people who live here.

With limited funding often available to small organizations, we chose to offer unrestricted grants, which give each partner the flexibility to use funds where they’re most needed, whether for operations, programming, or capacity-building.

This approach reflects our values: trust in community leadership, a belief in the power of local culture, and a commitment to cultural equity in practice and principle.
